“The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible – and achieve it, generation after generation.”
Pearl S. Buck
WHO WE ARE
Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP):
The UYP program is designed to build the skills and mental development of adolescents and young people, while also raising awareness about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Implemented in both schools and communities, the program promotes health advocacy and council initiatives to help young people understand their rights.
Creative methods such as drama and interactive activities are used to present SRHR issues in simple, accessible ways. Hackathons serve as both competitive and cooperative platforms, encouraging greater youth participation. These efforts are particularly vital for marginalized and disabled youth, who are often excluded from reproductive health services and face higher risks. Ensuring access to information and healthcare for all young people is key to building an inclusive society.
As Pearl S. Buck observed, youth often achieve what seems impossible, generation after generation. This “unbeatable” spirit must be nurtured so young people can realize their potential and contribute meaningfully to society. To unlock this potential, organizations such as the UNHC must provide consistent support and assurance.
