The “Disability-Inclusive Health Initiative” program, focused on the inclusion of youth with disabilities in health system restructuring efforts, was held today, Monday, October 13, at the UYP (Oparajeyo Tarunno) Chattogram Center.

The event, chaired by Project Officer Apu Dasgupta, was attended by Mostafa Kamal Jatra, Chief Executive (Utsho); Safia Begum, Representative of the Organisation of Persons with Disabilities; Sitara Parvin, Officer at the Chattogram Disability Healthcare Center; and Fahmida Begum, NGO Organiser. The program was moderated by Youth Officer Annie Chowdhury.

At the beginning of the meeting, Project Officer Apu Dasgupta presented key issues through a PowerPoint presentation, including necessary steps for building an inclusive service sector by involving youth with disabilities in the health sector.

The speakers stated, “Youth with disabilities are a vital part of society whose health rights must be ensured. A truly effective system can be established only if their opinions and practical experiences are incorporated into the structure of healthcare services and the process of service delivery. Healthcare is for everyone—no one should be left behind.”

The event was successfully concluded with the participation of all.
