“Theatre for SRHR” – A New Life in the Light of Illumination

Under the initiative of RHSTEP (Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program), the Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP) Sylhet Center staged the awareness drama “Alor Aloy Notun Jibon” (A New Life in the Light of Illumination) on 27 September 2025 at the open premises of Alordhara Pathshala.

The special theatrical event was organized to raise awareness among the young generation on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
Distinguished guests included Mr. Abul Monsur Asjad, Assistant Director, Family Planning, Sylhet Division, and Mr. Nihar Ranjan Das, Unit Manager, RHSTEP Sylhet Unit.

The play was performed in the open yard of Alordhara Pathshala, where adolescents, parents, and community members attended. Through the performance, messages addressing social crises, misconceptions, and the importance of SRHR awareness were conveyed.

The drama was directed by Ayesha Akter, Mentor of the UYP Project.
The cast included: Rashi, Boishakhi, Faiza, Maisha, Rehad, Salman, Pramit Kapali, Surjo, Shachchho, Sharmin Akter, Farzana, Srishti, Nipa Akter, Taslima Akter Konok, and Tanzina Begum.

The overall program was coordinated by Youth Officer Mehedi Hasan, with support from Youth Officer Philip Samaddar and Junior Youth Officer Hamida Akter Himu.
